Monifa Young, founder and Lead Consultant of apPLY Consulting, began the firm out of necessity and financial struggle. This educator of 20 years found herself desperately seeking work after two layoffs from 2008-2010. Unemployment funds were exhausted, no jobs were calling back. Thus, with her entrepreneurial mindset she began to tap into all of her talents to make a living for her family. This gave birth to ApPLY Consulting, a perfect medley of a strong writing background and innate desire to create quality programming in blight communities.
